The Serenity Series collection was inspired by Elena’s intense love of nature and its visually pleasing landscapes. She finds the subject matters to be both inspirational and spiritually renewing.

"Currently, I consider this collection of eclectic landscapes among my favorites because they evoke in me a period of time long since passed. Perhaps, with that come feelings of nostalgia and longing for those times once again.

Landscapes are among my favorite subjects to photograph, especially when using ambient light. For most of my landscape image transfers I use very slight hand coloring, as the richness of the slide film I use for photographing my subject matter is color saturated enough and retains the ample, rich colors I desire for my image transfers.

"In creating this series, my hope is you will also find the quiet, peaceful and inspiration I discovered while photographing these enlightening subjects. Also, in viewing the Serenity Series, I hope to transport you back in time to a quieter, simpler, and gentler era."
